I decided to order an Alpine Ale, a beer brewed at the onsite Dux de Lux Brewery in Queenstown was named Best New Zealand Draught for the second year running. Alpine Ale 2006’ was awarded the Colin Harrison Memorial Trophy for Best New Zealand Draught. The Queenstown brewery’s Wakatipu Wheat brew was recognized with a bronze medal for American Style Wheat Beers. G F decided to have a wine cooler. The drinks arrived and I must say that the ale is nice. The entrees duly arrived and the seafood chowder is a bit too creamy but full of the fresh seafood flavor. The medium roasted chicken pizza came and was pretty good with the plum sauce a bit unusual compared to the standard normal tomato based sauce. The venison is nice and not too gamey. Overall we enjoyed the dinner and the place did have a live band too. The evening was nice and so romantic.
